VERDI Requiem
Following on from its wonderful Verdi Requiem concert in November 2007, Romsey Choral Society is delighted to be asked to join the Guildford based Vivace Chorus together with members of the Freiburger Bachchor and The Brandenberg Sinfonia in Guildford Cathedral.
This promises to be a exhilarating performance of one of the most dramatic settings of the mass for the dead in the choral repertoire. First performed with a choir of 120 and an orchestra of 100, its heartfelt emotions, powerful last judgement and memorable lachrymosa have ensured its lasting appeal ever since its première in 1874.
