David Truslove read for a degree in Music at Cardiff University, and studied singing with the counter-tenor Timothy Penrose in London. After completing a post-graduate teaching year in York, where he regularly sang with the choir of York Minster, he took up an appointment as an Alto Lay-clerk and member of the teaching staff at St. Michael's College, Tenbury in Worcestershire. Since 1985 he has pursued his interest in singing and conducting and now combines membership of Winchester Cathedral choir with conducting Romsey Choral Society and Portsmouth Festival Choir. As a member of Winchester Cathedral Choir he has taken part in frequent BBC broadcasts and numerous recordings, variously for Argo, Hyperion, Virgin and Priory. Foreign engagements with the Choir have taken David to Brazil, a coast to coast tour of the United States, to concert halls throughout Australia (including Sydney Opera House) and, in Europe, to Florence, Halle, Oslo, Utrecht and the Channel Islands. As a choral conductor David has directed
much of the standard choral repertoire as well as performing lesser-known works
by British composers such as Howard Blake, Brian Chapple and Geoffrey Bush. In 1996, with Romsey Choral Society, David presented
